Section One: The Outer Barrow
Trash Mob Mechanics
Before diving into pull orders, familiarize yourself with the enemy types you will encounter throughout the instance. Each mob has unique mechanics that must be handled correctly to avoid wipes.
Important: Always pull the pathing Deadlight before each group to avoid it summoning more enemies.
Decaying Barrow-Oak
- Sloughing Rot drops every 15 seconds and subtracts 3% morale per tick
- Unearthly Corruption reflects 20% damage as acid and needs to be removed immediately
- Swarming Bees means leave the group — every 3 seconds it subtracts 10% morale from the affected player, but if you are standing in the group it subtracts 100% morale. Only move 3 metres away from the group
- Below 20% health, Huorn's Wrath activates giving the tree +25% Melee, Ranged, and Tactical Damage while increasing its run speed by 15%
Devourers
- Devourer's Might should be interrupted immediately when a yellow bar appears — otherwise it gains +50% melee damage and +15% run speed (these buffs can stack)
Deadlight
- Pull by itself to prevent it from spawning infinite Grave-weights
Grave-weight Warriors
- Remove the corruption Undying Strength which grants +25% melee damage and -50% incoming ranged and tactical damage
- Randomly applies a bleed called Rend which cannot be cleansed — stack heals on anyone affected as it deals heavy damage
Grave-weight Archers
- Dead Aim corruption grants +50% ranged damage — they should be CC'd or targeted first (this is a green eye)
- Fearful Heart is a 10-second fear that can fear you into puddles during the last boss fight — archers must go down first or be CC'd
Plaguebearers
- Touch of Plague — if you get this green eye and don't move out of the group, it subtracts 100% morale from those around you. Move 5 metres away
- They have an aura that causes damage and decreases your Vitality — only heavy classes should stand near them
- Breath of Decay decreases your incoming healing by -20% and lasts 20 seconds
Crawlers
- Crawler's Ire gives a red eye which forces an attack onto the player or pet with the eye
- Sudden Focus is a corruption that gives the target +100% melee damage and +40% run speed — remove it
Trash Pull Order
Pull 1: Grave Spider → Hatchlings
Pull 2: Tree → Spiders ×2 → Crawlers ×3 → Roots
Pull 3: Warrior → Rats ×5
Pull 4: Plaguebearers ×2 → Tree → Beetles → Roots
Pull 5: Plaguebearers ×2 → Warrior → Tree → Crawlers → Roots → Archer
Tip: Mez the archer in Pull 5 if possible, otherwise kill it first.
Boss 1: Fladach
This is a classic tank-and-spank encounter. The tank holds aggro on Fladach and taunts any crawlers as they spawn. Healers should watch for the random poisoned effect throughout the fight. DPS should only target Fladach.
Key Mechanics
- 10 seconds into the fight, crawlers spawn
- Crawlers explode simultaneously and drop Poisoned Earth which subtracts 20% morale every 3 seconds (this can stack)
- Rooted — interrupt the yellow bar induction which causes a wound that roots you in place. If missed, cleanse immediately
- Rain of Decay — a grey bar distributed induction that applies a poison to everyone. Healers must cleanse as soon as possible
- Deadly Poison — a green eye applied to 3 random players that must be potted immediately. It deals massive damage every 3 seconds for 9 seconds
- Fladach will randomly apply a poisoned effect throughout the fight that deals massive damage every 3 seconds for 9 seconds to anyone in the group
Strategy
- Tank picks up Fladach and holds position
- DPS burns Fladach — do not switch targets
- Tank taunts crawlers as they spawn
- Interrupt Rooted (yellow bar) every time
- Healers cleanse Rain of Decay (grey bar) immediately
- Players with Deadly Poison (green eye) use pots immediately
- Healers keep heavy sustained healing to counter the random poisoned effect
Section Two: The Inner Barrow
Trash Pull Order
Pull 1: Deadlight → Warrior → Archers ×2
Tip: Mez archers if possible, otherwise kill them first.
Pull 2: Plaguebearer → Shamblers ×2 → Arms ×2 → Rats ×5
Tip: Pull only the first half of the room by single-targeting an arm to you.
Pull 3: Deadlight → Shambler → Arms
Pull 4: Warriors → Shamblers → Arms → Archers ×2
Tip: Mez archers if possible, otherwise kill them first.
Pull 5: Plaguebearer → Warriors ×2
Pull 6: Plaguebearers ×2 → Crawlers ×3
Pull 7: Kill the lone Barrow-light first, then: Plaguebearer → Warrior → Shambler → Deadlight → Archer → Arm
Tip: Mez the archer as before.
Pull 8: Plaguebearers ×2 → Warriors ×2 → Crawlers ×2 → Archers ×2
Boss 2: Luilloth and Astoryn
A dual boss fight. Kill Luilloth first and try to AoE Astoryn down alongside her so they both die around the same time.
Setup
The tank starts the fight where Luilloth spawns, turned away from the door. Everyone else groups up and waits for the purple eye. When the purple puddles drop, healers should bubble up and heal through the first eye until the second eye drops.
Phase Transitions
- Puddles — after the purple eye expires, the fellowship groups up and drops puddles together in the middle of the room. Each person drops 2 puddles, so don't move — stack them in one spot
- At 60% boss health, focus and destroy Urns before returning to the boss. Urns must be destroyed within 10 seconds of spawning or the whole fellowship gets cursed, gaining +60% melee, ranged, and tactical damage
- At 33% health, repeat urns
- When Astoryn attacks via the red eye, one DPS should focus Astoryn, remove corruptions, and interrupt any yellow bar inductions (especially the Apprehension debuff skill)
- For Blight, everyone leave the tank and wait for it to expire
- When a bleed occurs, pop all health skills
Key Mechanics
- Fear-stricken — interruptible, causes -40% incoming healing
- Blight — grey bar induction that deals damage to anyone near the affected player. Leave the group if you have it
- Marked Prey — Astoryn will force-attack anyone with the red eye
- Bleeding Wound — -15% morale every 3 seconds for 9 seconds. After expiration, -20% morale every 9 seconds. Healers should focus anyone with this wound
- Retribution — while urns are active, Luilloth gains +20% melee, ranged, and tactical damage and reflects 100% damage
- Loyal Defense — corruption that tiers up from 1 to 5, scaling from -25% to -85% incoming melee, ranged, and tactical damage. Remove immediately before it stacks
- Astoryn's Induction — interrupt when the dog randomly targets someone and starts a yellow bar to avoid the Apprehension debuff
- Diseased Wound — -8% morale every 3 seconds for 9 seconds. On expiration, -12% morale every 3 seconds for 9 seconds. This comes from Astoryn biting a player — healers be aware
- When either boss dies, the surviving one (Astoryn) gains Undying Rage: +60% outgoing damage and +30% attack speed. Mobs will spawn and should be CC'd
Boss 3: Amondir Hithrengor
A two-phase boss fight with heavy corruption and fear mechanics.
Phase 1
The tank stays on the platform and moves corner to corner dropping puddles. When Veil of Fear is active, start removing corruptions immediately while keeping the reflect in mind.
- At 65% and 36% health, the boss drops to the floor and you kill Essences of Fear
- Interrupt the yellow bar which causes a fear effect
Phase 2
Hope wipe occurs immediately at the start of Phase 2 — use a Hope Token right away.
Judgment of the Doomsman is the purple eye and drops a massive-damage puddle. Drop puddles as a group. The 2 players without eyes should focus on interrupts. Healers need to save all group heals for Judgment of the Doomsman. The puddle deals -20% max morale damage every 3 seconds.
- At 67% he says "Rise, my subjects" — adds spawn
- At 33% he says "The dead obey me" — more adds spawn
Phase 2 Add Wave 1
Plaguebearer → Archers ×2 → Shamblers ×2 → Warriors ×2 → Arms
Phase 2 Add Wave 2
Plaguebearers ×2 → Archers ×2 → Shamblers ×2 → Warriors ×2 → Arms
Additional Mechanics
- Aggro resets after Essences die at 10% when he phases, and after the final Judgment Vortex
- Vortex — when active, it pulls you toward Hithrengor. Run toward the door until it ends
- Heart of Darkness — must be cleansed 3 times to remove the -20% max morale and -30% incoming healing debuff
